What is VIsion 2020?  To better answer that question, lets look at how VIsion 2020 got started.

PAST: Deep Creek Baptist Church looked at renovating the fellowship hall and the second floor for the past four years. The committee addressed renovations to the fellowship hall and downstairs area by updating the kitchen, bathrooms, boiler room, supply closet, classrooms, and the septic system. Second floor changes included updating the bathrooms, nursery, choir room, classrooms, and office area. Also included in the remodel was a new fire escape and fire exit signs so the church would meet current building codes, as well as updating the stairwells and the heating and cooling systems throughout the church building. Due to a lack of funding, third floor renovations only included remodeling the bathroom and reinstalling the support beam in the ceiling. The remodel began in November, 2014.

PRESENT: Church renovations were completed in May, 2015 with a dedication ceremony and handing over of the keys to the building committee at our homecoming celebration. Deep Creek Baptist Church currently has a loan balance of approximately $500,000 with a monthly payment of $3380. The church has received pledges and donations from members to assist in the loan balance. We had a love offering at the dedication ceremony. The church has established a Vision 2020 committee whose responsibilities include fundraising and projects to assist in reducing the debt. It is the goal of this committee that our church loan will be paid off by the year 2020. In order for this goal to be reached, WE NEED YOUR ASSISTACE AND SUPPORT!

WAYS TO GIVE AND OFFER SUPPORT: The committee currently has upcoming events scheduled to assist in our debt reduction. We are hosting a motorcycle and cruisers (cars and trucks) benefit ride on August 22, 2015 starting at 8:30 a.m. We also plan on hosting a 5K run/walk during the month of October, 2015. We will host quarterly luncheons after worship services with a love offering taken to go towards reducing our debt. The next one will be at Homecoming in September. We are ordering Vision 2020 t-shirts which will be available for purchase. Through a local lawyer, we plan to host an estate planning session which will offer ways individuals can give to the church through their estates.
