The Senior Adult Ministry is affectionately called the JOY Club (Jesus our Yahweh). Though it is open to anyone, the intent of the group is to provide an opportunity for the older members of the church and community to enJOY each other and bring JOY to hurting and lonely members of the congregation. JOY began over birthday celebrations, and has grown to include shopping and dining outings, tours, movies, devotions, and literary presentations. Because there is no strict agenda for this ministry, the opportunities for fellowship are limitless!
The JOY Group does take responsibility for sending get well cards to ill members of the church, and regularly visits those confined to nursing homes. When requested, the group also packs school lunches for the Backpack program.
