Rev. Nathan Tuttle began serving as Senior Pastor at Deep Creek Baptist Church in August 2019. Prior to serving at Deep Creek Nathan has faithfully served the local church in Student Ministry the last eighteen years throughout North Carolina. He graduated from UNC-Charlotte and completed his Master of Divinity at Campbell University Divinity School.

 Nathan accepted Jesus when he was twelve years old at a youth camp. He is grateful for the people God has put in his life over the years to shape his spiritual formation and call to serve as a minister of the Gospel. Nathan is passionate about connecting people’s stories with God’s story and helping people discover their gifts and to provide opportunities to grow in their faith.

Nathan and his wife Tara are originally from the Winston-Salem area. They have been blessed with four young children who keep them on their toes! In his free time Nathan is an avid sports fan, especially college athletics with his favorite team being Wake Forest!

Director of Family Ministry

Kayla Smith

Kayla Smith began serving as part-time Director of Family Ministry at Deep Creek Baptist Church in January 2020. Kayla graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Exercise and Sport Science and Psychology. She is currently working on her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University.

Kayla is following God’s current call to work with children and youth in a vocational ministry setting. In this position, Kayla will provide consistent leadership and be the church’s point person for our children and youth ministry. Kayla and her fiance Michael are excited about their upcoming wedding!

Judy Beasley

Judy Beasley moved to North Carolina from Virginia in early 2005 in preparation for her husband, Wilson’s, retirement.  She had served as Secretary and then Administrative Assistant at South Norfolk Baptist Church beginning in 1998 and continued to serve in churches after moving to North Carolina. Mrs. Beasley came to know Christ on a personal level at the age of nine and has served in various areas of ministry since the age of sixteen when she began as a church pianist. Church administration is for Judy, much more that a job.  She considers it a ministry.

Judy and Wilson have a large family--six children and fourteen grandchildren--which keeps her life busy outside the office. Her interests are music, reading, sewing, knitting and, most enjoyable, being Granny.



Sue Brandon

Sue is a housing specialist with USDA Rural Development, currently headquartered in Statesville. She is a graduate of Forbush High School and Surry Community College.  Sue lives on a farm with her husband Kent and their “critters”, including two dogs whocome to church every Sunday. In addition to enjoying the music program at Deep Creek,some of her favorite things are reading, puttering in the yard or spending time with thehorses. A real homebody, a perfect day is enjoying the sunrise with a good cup of coffee and “digging in the dirt”.


Barbara Todd

Barbara Todd is the organist and assistant music director at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Barbara is a graduate of Forbush High School and UNC-Greensboro and is a retired public school educator, having been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent of schools in her career. She currently works as an adjunct professor for Gardner-Webb University for the Education Department. She teaches in the master’s degree program for elementary school teachers and supervises interns who are getting their master’s degree in school administration and aspire to become principals. Barbara is married to Harrell Todd and they have two sons, Nathaniel (Nate) and Darren. Barbara enjoys going to the YMCA to exercise. In addition to enjoying music, she also enjoys reading.


Bobby Todd

Bobby has served as treasurer since 2008 and is a lifelong member of Deep Creek Baptist.  A graduate of Forbush High School and Forsyth Technical Community College, he is President of the Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Partnership.  Bobby enjoys SCUBA diving, hiking and reading, works with Boy Scout Troop 655 and currently serves on the Executive Board for the Old Hickory Council.  He and his wife Trish have one son, Patrick.
